Sugar free apple pie


For the crust:

  • 340 g flour
  • 20 g Fooditive sweetener
  • 5 g salt
  • 120 g butter
  • 100 ml cold ice water
  • For the filling:
  • 400 g granny smith apples
  • 150 g fooditive sweetener
  • 15 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 10 g cinnamon
  • 10 g all spice
  • 10 g corn starch
  • To brush the pie one egg

  • Mix the flour with Fooditive sweetener and salt, grate the butter on top of the flour mixture.

  • Mix the flour mixture with butter well with hands.

  • Add half the amount of the water and mix

  • Slowly add the rest of the water until the dough become firm

  • Keep it in fridge for at least 30 minute before use.

  • For the filling:

    • Wash and cut the apples into slices and add the fresh lemon.

    • Add Fooditive sweetener and corn starch

    • Cook the apples in low heat for 5 minutes

    • Add the cinnamon and all spice and let it cool down.

  • Pre-heat the oven in 180C.

  • Roll down half of the dough into pie pan and add the apple filling.

  • Roll down the rest of the dough and cover the pie or by cutting the dough into lines to create the wanted shape.

  • In small bowl whisk the egg with water to create egg wash.

  • Brush the pie with the egg wash.

  • Bake the pie on 180C for 30 minutes or until become golden brown.
